Lake Erie 06-16-23
I hit Lake Erie once again. The lake temperature was running 67 degrees. I hit backwater areas with a stiff northeast wind on the lake. I found some largemouth in a area that I hadn't fished before, and also decided to hit a hot water discharge area. I was shocked the bass were still in there. Water temperature was running 77 degrees in there. Most effective lures were a jig and a chatterbait.
This was our first fishing trip of 2023. Strong winds and storms the day prior led into our bluebird fishing day. Come along to see how we stringed some bites together on a tough fishing condition day. Thanks for being part of our community and stayed tuned for more exclusive content from R & J Bass Fishing. I took this video last week of few largemouth bass on beds in Michigan. The thing that surprised me most is you can't really even tell there is a bed there. Have you guys ever noticed that some bass make large beds and others don't? The video is a short two or so minute glimpse underwater of the bass hanging around the bed and how one reacts to a wacky rig near it. #largemouth #bassfishing #bass #underwater #spawn
Jim and I finally timed the big slab crappie bite right this year on Lake Erie. We've been wanting to do it, and always get side tracked with walleye, largemouth, or smallmouth. #crappie #fishing #LakeErie #GreatLakes #Michigan #Ohio #outdoors #slabs
Below is a short video of the crappie fishing day.
